Approach to Care

Saru’s path into psychiatric mental health care was shaped by years of hands-on experience supporting individuals with complex mental health conditions in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Her early clinical work in Nepal and India, combined with extensive experience in the United States healthcare system, has strengthened her ability to adapt treatment to each patient’s cultural, social, and emotional context.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Saru spent many years working as a psychiatric registered nurse in high-acuity behavioral health settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize patients experiencing severe mental illness and psychiatric crises.

She believes that healing begins with trust. Her approach is patient-centered, collaborative, and compassionate, grounded in evidence-based psychiatric care and guided by empathy and respect. Saru works closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that support emotional stability, resilience, and long-term recovery.

Her background in nursing education and teaching has also reinforced her passion for patient education, advocacy, and empowering individuals to actively participate in their mental health journey.
